10 Milers, Boardwalks and Marathons

From Armagh to Murlough to Chicago – LVAC had runners in action everywhere you look. 

Armagh 10 Miler 

Ciaran McKenna was the clubs sole representative at the Armagh 10 miler on Sunday 8th October  2023, but he didn’t let that stop him and put in a brilliant performance to finish in the top 50 with a fast time of 1:08:06!!!!!. The only problem with not having your team mates there is that there’s no-one to help you get your vest the right way round!!!!! Don’t worry Ciaran – no one noticed!!!!!

GR8 Dundrum Run

Elaine, Ian and Aidan were in action in the GR8 Dundrum Run, taking in the mix of road and stunning beach and boardwalk along the route. Ian and Aidan tackled the 8.5mile course with Elaine going in the 3.5mile race. Elaine was rewarded with a top place podium finish in the F55 Category. Results below:-

Ian Bailey – 1:00:34

Aidan Brewster – 1:24:17

Chicago Marathon 

Trevor rounded off the week with some International flying of the club colours. Trevor flew to Chicago to take part in the Chicago Marathon. In perfect weather conditions a good flat course Trevor crossed the finish line in 3:47hrs. Great running.
