Northern Ireland & Ulster Senior Championships

Lagan Valley AC had some strong performances at the 2023 Northern Ireland and Ulster Senior Track & Field Championships at the Marys Peters Track. The Throwers lead the way with 6 podium places and two championship titles – Jonny McLaughlin taking gold in the F40 mens javelin and Lynsey Glover in the Ladies Hammer. 

Lee Webster had a great throw of 38.80m to take bronze in the mens javelin closet filled by Alex Hogg in 6th place with a throw of 35.13m.

Lynsey Glover took the bronze in the ladies Discus with Ciara McGilloway in 4th. 

The Ladies Shot saw the sky blue and navy both sides of the podium with Lynsey Glover in 2nd and Ciara McGilloway in 3rd.

Also in the field we had Emily Forte with a really strong Long Jump to take joint 5th in a very strong and close Ladies Long Jump. 

On the track it was the sprinters who were in action. Laura Frey showed her strength on her way back from injury in the 400m Hurdles for 5th in the Final. 

James Hilman, Andrew Proctor and Kriss Nelson were both in action in the 100m with Kris achieving a time of 13.72 and Andrew 11.76 in the heats. James made the mens B Final where he finished 3rd in 11.75. 

 The three men took to the line of the 200m as well with James finishing in 23.39, Andrew 23.95 and Kriss 27.73.
