McConnell Shield 2023

The McConnell Shield Cross Country is one of the oldest and most prestigious events on the calendar. The club had a good turnout despite the date clashing with the Uneven Age group and Novice Championships in Donegal.

A mixture of youth and experience saw the Women finish second with strong running from Suzanne Higgins, Hannah Cochrane, Shileen O’Kane, Jenny Finlay, Martina Elliott, Katy Dunn and Ruth Perioli. 

In the Mens 60+ Master Race, Phillip Brines had a great run for a top 10 finish followed by Eric Montgomery and Trevor Wilson. 

Richard Edwards took 5th spot in the M55 race with Aidan Brewer finishing 10th in the M50 category.
