Malcolm Cup 2023 

The Malcolm Cup took place at the Dub Playing fields on the 26th November.  Lagan Valley had another good turn out across the age groups. 

First up were the Master Men with David Hanna the first LV man home in for a top 10 finish in the M45 category. David was closely followed by Richard Edwards who took 2nd place in the M55 category with Michael Gillan finishing11th in the same race. Gerard McGann also had a top 10 finish in the M40 Category just ahead of Eric Montgomery finishing 7th in the M65 race. There were good runs also from Trevor Wilson and Aidan Brewster. 

Next up was Charlie Hume in the U13 Boys race finishing an excellent 23rd in a large field of runners. 

In the Ladies race Sarah McNutt continued her brilliant form to finish in 3rd place in the open race and taking can age group win in the F35 category. Shileen O’Kane also took the win in the F55 race and was followed Hayley McAteer who was 4th in the Open category. Jenny Finlay was next home resulting in the Lagan Valley Ladies taking 3rd place in the the team standings. Martina Elliott, Victoria MCCartney, Ruth Perioli and Kate Montgomery all had strong runs in their respective categories. 

Joshua Hanna was the sole LVAC runner in the Boys U17 race with a 16th place finish. 

In the Mens Open/Vets race there was a great run from Keith Dawson to take 2nd place in the M40 category followed by Stephen McAteer in the Open race.
