MONDAY NIGHT MOB

This is a mixed male/female group of experienced and novice runners with the odd field eventer added to the mix. IT is open to those of all abilities who are intent on progressing their running in a variety of disciplines such as parkrun, road running, cross country, mountain running, orienteering and modern pentathlon. Group sessions are primarily track based intervals and individual training plans are available for those who want a comprehensive guided approach to their training. The group has been in existence since the formation of the club in 1989.

WHO: Adults 17-75+ Middle / Distance Group

WHERE: Mary Peters Track – group meets in the corner at 200m start – at the bottom of the main set of steps directly opposite the bottom of the main driveway.

WHEN: We meet twice a week all year round.

  • Monday: 19:00 – 20:00
  • Thursday: 19:00 – 20:00

 

LVAC SENIORS

Along with the successes of the Monday Mob on the roads and cross country, Lagan Valley is one of the county’s leading Senior Track & Field clubs, entering teams in the NI Team Trophy and Irish National as well as many individual entries in Championships and competitions across the country and beyond.

Eric become involved with Lagan Valley in the 1990’s supporting his twins Dawn and Lee. Fed up sitting around watching, he took up running and throughout his career as a Master athlete he has achieved great success as he has moved up through the age groups. His ability as an organiser is legend and in recent years, ably assisted by his wife Kate, he has taken on the role of Facilitator for the Senior middle distance squad, known as the Monday Night Mob.

COACH

John is a Level 4 and UKA Master Coach who has been coaching for almost five decades covering a range of events from sprint hurdles through to Marathon. He has coached a range of disciplines and coached athletes to titles in Ulster and Irish Schools and Northern Ireland Senior Age Groups. Athletes he has coached have competed at World Cross Country Championships, British and Irish Masters and at Commonwealth Games level. A former Northern Ireland Champion in four different disciplines, he continues to combine coaching with competing in Masters events.
