Irish Indoor Senior Championships

At the National Indoors the Club had a very successful Championships with 3 podium finishes

On the first day Jai Benson took a superb gold in the Triple Jump with a best of 14.25. 

Lughaidh Mallon won his first ever senior medal with a brilliant bronze in the 1500m  coming from 7th with 200m to go to finish 3rd in an unbelievable sprint finish. 

 On the second of our junior girls, Isa McCarron and Olivia Morgan stepped down from 800 to help our senior ladies (Laura Frey and Erin McMahon to bronze in the 4×400 – an outstanding achievement and great experience for the girls! The ladies also had a good run in the 4 x 200m (Aida Zukauskaite, Laura Frey, Anna Hogg, Erin McMahon) with a time of 1:46.58. The mens 2 x 200m (Andrew Proctor, Malte Heinrich’s, Harry Nelson, Jason Craig) ran a respectable 1:41.13. 

 Erin McMahon had a strong run in the 200m to finish third in her heat in 26.81 while Andrew Proctor also took third in his heat with 23.46 as did Kris Nelson with 27.39.

 In the 400m Laura Frey ran a 58.12 in her heat while Malte Heinrich’s had a strong 52.70 in the heats of the mens race. 

 Brilliant to see the club do well at this level – well done all.
