4 of our masters have made the trip to Athlone for the Irish Multi Event Championships and showed their class coming home with a medal each.
Star of the show was Laura Frey who in her first pentathlon on 4 years had an outstanding perfroamce in the Senior Ladies Event gaining two individual PBs in the 60m hurdles and 800m and an overall PB points total of 3362. Laura was rewarded with a very impressive 3rd place finish in the Senior Event.
Not to be outdone by his daughter Joe Frey was also throwing out the PB’s like confetti in the Master M65 event. Joe claimed 3 PBs (and 1 equal one in the high jump) to take the silver medal.
Lynsey Brown made her multi event debut and continued her medal winning ways to claim the W40 title with some excellent performances along the way. For anyone that follows Lynsey on Social Media they were know the hard work she has been putting in to learn these new events and her “keep going” attitude could teach us all a few things.
It was also great to see Barry Morris getting back into competitive action in the M70 event and he too did it in style bring home the gold medal.
Excellent results all round.
