Hillsborough Castle Gardens Running Festival

Hillsborough was painted sky blue and navy with a great turn out for the club at the Hillsborough Castle Gardens Running Festival. 

Some brilliant running and team work from the Junior Endurance Squad  in the 5k saw the boys take a clean sweep with the first 5 runners home. The boys were lead by Stephen Lester who took victory on 17.16, followed by Rhys McManus in 2nd with 18.48 and Lewis Kitson in 3rd with 18.50. Alexander Massey and Mark Lundy secured the 4th and 5th spots in 19.17 and 19.34 respectively. 

Not to be outdone by the boys Shileen O’Kane took the victory in the ladies race with 22.07. 

Lagan Valley also dominated the age categories with a victory for Ian Bailey, Eric Montgomery and Bobby Hanna in the Half Marathon and runner up spots for Richie Edwards and Jenny Finlay again in the Half. 

Lucy Hanna also had a great run in the Half Marathon.
