Ulster Schools Cross Country

Last Wednesday we had an amazing 49 club juniors qualified to represent their respective schools at the ultra-competitive provincial championships held in Mallusk. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend, but our juniors did themselves proud as expected; from that 49, we had 12 athletes who qualified for Irish Schools as of right given their individual placings, with several others progressing via top 3 team positions. The Irish Schools will take place in Ballybrit, Galway, on Saturday 8th March. Well done to everyone, those who qualified individually for Galway include:

Georgina Garland 8th and Georgia Storey 10th

Ollie Hanna 7th

Noah Harper Boys 3rd
Alex Downey 6th
Rory Armstrong 13th      

Inter Girls
Katie Keown 7th

Chloe Young 12th

Senior Boys
Jude McGann 12th

Senior Girls
Katie Graham 5th
Lily Rimmer 9th

Another top 10 on the day was Beibhinn Bourke 7th in the Mini Girls, but there is no race at National Schools XC for that age group. Some of those listed above will have a nervous wait to find out if they have been selected to represent NI Schools at the London Mini Marathon on 26 April 2025.
