London Marathon 2024

Lagan Valley AC had 8 athletes competing in this years London Marathon Events with international vests, PBs and debuts included. 

We had 4 of our juniors selected to represent Northern Ireland in the mini marathon. All four had a great run and got the opportunity to cross the iconic TCS London Marathon Finish Line:-

–   Katie Keown 09:28min

–   Olivia Morgan 09:27min

– Noah Harper 08:04min

– Rory Armstrong 08:24min

It was then the turn of the four Seniors to take to the start line the following morning for the full 26.2 mile trek around the streets of London. 

First Home for the club was Sarah McNutt who had an outstanding run to take over 7 minutes off her PB, crossing the line in 3:01:06. Sarahs preparation had been badly interrupted with illness and injury on the lead up to the event, so to still be able to perform to this level is impressive. 

Richie Edwards was making his debut over the marathon distance and produced a strong performance of 3:20:54.

Trevor Wilson also was delighted with his time of 3:48:51 even if he was running in the wrong colour vest!!!!!!!!!!

Ian Bailey again made it an family affair, running the course with his sister and finishing in 4:01:50. Ian showed real determination to keep going after a fall early in the race.
